I’ve heard of people flying for the Medfly program a number of times here in Southern California, and I knew that there was a large base flying out of Los Alamitos Army Airfield, but I never actually knew what it meant to fly for Medfly.  I recently stumbled upon a pilot’s blog who happened to fly for the Medfly program.  Ron Rapp wrote a fantastic post about his day in the life of a Medfly Pilot and the history behind it.  If you have about 5-10 minutes then I would highly recommend flying on over to Ron’s site.
